My Story

Growing up in Nebraska, I spent much of my time reading—especially during oppressive summer heat or bitter winter cold. On days so frigid the streets froze over, I'd still bike to school. Bad idea. Those books transported me to faraway places: palm-tree-covered islands, jet-setting travelers, and adventures full of danger and romance.

My life hasn't followed those stories exactly, but I've been lucky to live in several states, surf at tropical islands, and study abroad during university. South Africa, Indonesia, and New Zealand were my favorites. I don't usually fly on private jets to get there—that happened once when an earlier agency pitched our design skills to Hyundai Motors.

My design career began when I built websites for my photography portfolio. After taking Flash, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop courses, I was hooked. I pursued photography for a while, but eventually transitioned to design work and was hired by SweetRush, an interactive company in San Francisco.

At ThoughtMatrix in San Francisco, I designed creative concepts for companies like Verizon, Delta Dental, and AAA. It was high-energy, fast-paced work—usually on fierce deadlines. Sometimes we'd nail a pitch. Our development team was so talented they could build almost anything we dreamed up. When that chapter ended, I found my true design home in software products.

Joining MobileIron launched my SaaS career. I thrived on creating and improving products over time, working with PMs, engineers, and customers to define needs and workflows. Eventually, I moved to VMware and helped build enterprise offerings including data visualization, automation, AI, and device management tools.

Currently, I lead a talented team at C3.ai which focuses on Enterprise Ai.

Previously I was at Omnissa, which spun off from the Broadcom-VMware acquisition. We're bringing a new design system to market that multiple products will adopt. This project has been incredibly rewarding—it combines my passion for efficient, lean design with solving real product challenges.

The SF Bay Area is my home. When I'm not designing enterprise software, I'm surfing, biking, or making things. I'd love to chat about design or related opportunities.
